Installation (Win XP)

There are two parts to this – the initial full installation and then the updates. Download the full TRNG Installer from the tools page.

You only have to run the TRNG Full Installer ONCE. After that you run the latest updater as new patches become available and any new files will automatically be updated.

After downloading the Full Installer, double click the exe, extract the files, click Install and the installation will begin. Make sure no TRNG or NG Scripter programmes are running or the installation will fail.

Once installation is complete all programmes and files will be correctly installed and ready for use. As new patches become available, only the latest updater is required to be downloaded and installed. To check for the latest updates, open your NG Scripter programme, click the Updates tab and click the Check for Available Updates button.

Running the updater will update your MK1 TRNG and NG Scripter with the latest files and when complete these programmes will be ready to use.

Important! The Mk1 TRNG is what you get when you install the Mk1 TRNG using the Full Installer. Updating the MK1 TRNG will install Mk2 TRNG beta versions. If you do not wish to work with beta versions, please work with the orginal Mk1 TRNG programme and don't install any updates.

If you do install updates and hit problems, it is available to roll back to the basic MK1 at any time by opening the NG Scripter and clicking the Change Version button on the Settings tab and selecting a previous version of the software.

Please note that the NG Scripter is required to produce working DAT files for the new game engine. If you convert your scripts manually, new features will not work in the new game engine. Check the Tools page regularly to keep up to date with the latest updates and patches.
