The NGLE Manual
Installation
There are two parts to this
– the NGLE itself and the NG Scripter. Download both folders
from the tools page and
unzip them. Inside
the NGLE folder you will find 5 files:
NG_TomPc –
This is the level converter
NGLE -
The Next
Generation Level Editor
Objects –
A notebook
text file
Tomb4 –
The Next
Generation Game Engine exe
Tomb_NextGeneration.dll
– A driver needed to make it all work

First install a fresh copy of the Level
Editor and then copy all these files into the main TRLE
folder on your C Drive.

Inside the NG Scripter folder you will find 3
files:

Double click setup and the
installation of the NG Scripter will begin.

Once you have installed the NG Scripter you
can start it by going to Start Panel – Programes – NG Center
– NG Center. On your initial start up you will be
prompted for the location of your TRLE main folder. Simply
navigate to the TRLE main folder in the dropdown browse list
and double click on it. That will tell the NG Scripter where
the files it needs are located. Once that’s done, you’ve
installed the Next Generation Level Editor and Game Engine.
Please
note that the NG Scripter is required
to produce working DAT files for the new game engine. If you
convert your scripts manually, new features will not work in
the new game engine.
When
you have succesfully installed the trng and NG Scripter you
must download the latest updates from the tools page and
replace the files in the NG Scripter folder and your trle
folder with these latest updates. Check the Tools page
regularly to keep up to date with developments.
