Story
Lara is exploring a remote part of the jungles of southern India
in search of a huge temple, known as the Tower of Sumpta.
Sumpta, according to legend, was a warrior god worshipped by an
ancient tribe who built the temple in his honour. It is said
that somewhere in the underground chambers of the temple lies a
mystical sword which belonged to Sumpta. Lara must find her way
into the temple and find the sword.
Tower of Sumpta/Beneath the Tower
This was one of the very first custom Tomb Raider levels I ever
played after discovering the world of the TR Editor. I can't
really describe what it was like when I realised Tomb Raider
wasn't dead after all and it was with immense excitement I set
off into this adventure in search of that Tomb Raider
experience. And I wasn't disappointed.
This is classic jungle/temple Raiding with many memorable
moments. Some great platforming here, which, after all, is what
Tomb Raider was built around and I loved the transitions between
jungle and temples. Exploration, atmosphere, puzzles and
challenges have been blended together to produce a memorable
game. And it is solidly crafted, which is a welcome trademark of
Isis. One tip though, when you find the sword simply slide down
the huge flower stalk and jump into the final area, otherwise
you could get rather lost right at the end.
