Level Report by Gill

Story

Lara finds herself in the Temple of an old Mutant. Only her skill and intelligence will get her through and only her courage will help her against the monster lurking in the shadows when she finally confronts her in her lair.

The Mutant's Demise

As Lara arrives she starts off by making her way around some gloomy and atmospheric rooms in a castle/temple environment, her assignment here in search of some hidden gems and keys which will enable her to escape from the monster's lair. You will be venturing into areas which will keep you glued to your seat, while avoiding traps of boulders and spikes and eliminating enemies such as howling jackals and flying bats which lurk in the shadows. But they are no match for our Lara and do not deter her for one bit, who, with courage and knowledge at her fingertips, will succeed and destroy the old mutant in her lair.

The lighting and layout of each room is done to give you that right kind of atmosphere for a castle environment such as this. Suspense captivated me throughout in not knowing what to expect around the next corner, which in turn provided some thrilling moments while exploring and solving block puzzles, avoiding boulders and making my way around deadly lava areas.

All in all, this level was well thought-out and constructed, with game-play being fluent, solid and with an engaging storyline. All this kept me riveted to my seat, which made being in this adventure even more enjoyable.

So if you fancy venturing into a good old Lara adventure, full of suspense and thrilling moments with just over an hour of game-play, then this one should keep you entertained. It’s fairly easy and straightforward to complete, but some things may not seem that obvious to the eye at first glance.
