Level Report by George Maciver
Story
In an old book Lara found in her elaborate
library at the Croft Mansion, she reads about the mysterious
Mystic Stones. During her research she learns that the
Mystery cult has already found two of the artefacts. The
members of the cult have taken these two artefacts to a town
somewhere in the Netherlands, where they have hidden them in
two different locations. While guarding the artefacts they
have started to tear the town apart in search of the
remaining three artefacts.
Lara's search starts out in
'City at Night' where she will have to find the two
artefacts hidden by the cult members. She also has to find
the entrance to the second level 'Into the Sewers' to
retrieve the third artefact. Returning to 'City at Night'
she finds a gate, which had been locked before, opened by
the cult members. This gate gains access to 'Weird Science'
where the cult members have already secured an area in which
the entrance to the catacombs where a weird machine can be
found.
Lara finally has to find the
fourth and last Stone, return safely to the outside world
and get out alive.

Anything by Titak has to be a
must play game and this is no exception. It was amazing to
see just how masterful her level building skills were even
in her early levels. The girl is a true artist in every
sense of the word.
The gameplay flowed like
you were being carried on the wind. Quite an experience. The care
taken in every detail ensured a most rewarding Raid. Be warned, though, the
atmosphere is dark and you will use a lot of flares, even
playing at night. Having said that, although I did use huge
amounts of flares, I never ran out of the things! The levels
are immersive and you will be drawn into the story and you
won't want to leave. Don't be put off because this
is a dark game; just make sure you're in the right mood and
the lights are down before firing it up because this a gem.
At some point in the second
level, I sat back in wonder. It wasn't so much the lighting
and texturing or the environments, which were superb, it was
the heart behind every detail. I could feel this
level.
