Story
Lara hears of an ancient city called Luma which lies
somewhere in the icy wastes of northern Alaska, but the exact
position of which no-one can remember. It is rumoured that
within the city is a large diamond which the inhabitants of the
long lost city called The Luminum and which they believed was a
token of prosperity and good fortune for their city. Lara feels
that now the city has long since been abandoned, they no longer
need the diamond and it would make a nice addition to her
collection of artefacts.
The Lost City of Luma
Being a big fan of Isis since playing her Tower of Sumpta, I was
looking forward to this very much.
We began in some lovely icy caves in which it was a pure delight
to run around exploring. It wasn’t long either before I became
engrossed in what turned out to be a very enjoyable Raid in
search of 4 Tridents scattered around an ancient city in the
frozen wastes of Alaska.
One thing I particularly loved was the mix of indoor and outdoor
areas. Emerging out of the gloom into the bright sunshine of the
Alaskan snow was an amazing experience. Another thing I enjoyed
was the care taken applying textures. Okay, it's an early level
of Isis's, so, like the rest of us, she probably didn't know
about crack mode back then, so you do get points of light
showing through in places along the walls. But that's very minor
and certainly didn't detract from the game at all.
The gameplay was almost flawless and I didn't find one bug. Some
games you're constantly saving, dreading a gameplay bug that
will ruin your Raid. Not so with this level! This is a solidly
crafted and tested game which you can play with confidence.
