Story

In early December, Lara's best friend and Von Croy go to visit her grandmother's grave. It is almost a year since grandma died, but her spirit still stays in her house. She died too soon and didn't have time to say goodbye. When Lara's best friend meets the spirit of her grandmother she gets caught in the mirror from this to another world. Von Croy also stays locked in her house.

Lara hears all about it and goes to investigate.

Frosty Mansion

This is an enchanting level, my personal favourite of Oxy’s creations. The gameplay is fluid and straightforward, but not unchallenging, with an emphasis on exploration and finding puzzle items. It’s also driven by a great story, and this makes it even more rewarding to play.

The atmosphere and setting are immersive, and in no time I was captivated by the Frosty Mansion, from its snowy courtyards and gardens to its gloomy interior furnished with antiques. The level is quite dark and spooky at times, but is never threatening or unpleasant, and with an abundance of flares in my inventory I didn’t have much to worry about.

There aren’t many enemies apart from bats and skeletons, the latter of which kept me on my toes until I found a decent gun to obliterate them with. Oxy’s levels are never combat-focused, something I definitely like, and for the most part I could explore and take in the scenery undisturbed.

Frosty Mansion is well worth the download, and perfect if you’re looking for a short, entertaining level to play in one sitting.
