Level 1: The Unremarkable Egyptian Pillar
You start in a cave. Behind you is a receptacle and to
the south is a closed door. Go to the west and around
the large central column. You can see three rooms
further west that are closed by green-lit walls. Climb
the blocks by the west wall. The blocks are next to an
entrance to one of the rooms. Run and jump to the column
the north-east. Stand on the high slope of the column
and pull up to the north ledge. Run and jump to the west
ledge. Go west and kill two
dogs. There is Uzi ammo
in the north-west corner. Watch out for spike traps and
go to the south-west corner. You see a wall switch in an
alcove. This raises a timed trap door for later. Go east
and jump over the gap to a wide ledge. The timed trap
door is above you.
Continue east and jump to a ledge that is to the left of
a sloped column. Stand about the middle of the ledge and
face the south. Below you can see a ledge with a bull
statue. Stand jump to the south and use grab. You should
land on that ledge. Go to the block behind the east
statue and pull it to the south. This will reveal a
crawl space behind the statue. Then pull up to the west
into a crawl space. Pick up a
Random Pronged Thing and get down to the ledge.
Safety drop to the ground and return back to the ledge
with the wall switch.
Enter the alcove and pull down the wall switch. You get
a cut scene of a trap door rising. The trap door is
timed, of course. Roll and run to the east. Jump over
the gap and onto a ledge by the central column. Go to
the south wall, turn around, and stand about one step
from the south wall. Stand jump up to grab the trap
door. Pull up and run and jump to grab the ledge to the
east. The ledge has steam on it so pull up at a corner.
Stand jump to the north-east and onto a ledge. Jump
north to a ledge and pull up to a higher ledge. Use the
Random Pronged Thing in the wall receptacle. You get a
cut scene of a trap door rising.
Jump to the north-west for the trap door. You can jump
into the center of the column now, but you will return
here later. Run and jump to the west ledge. Climb the
ladder and shimmy to right to drop on a ledge. Stand
jump to the east and onto a lower ledge. You can see a
room with a pool to the south-east. Run and jump with a
left curve between the two red pillars. You can grab the
edge of the room and pull up. Kill
two blue ninjas in the
room. Go to the east wall and run through the green part
in the center of the wall. You get
secret #1 and
Uzi ammo. There is a
picture of a seal on the back wall. Return to the pool.
Dive into the water and swim into the north underwater
tunnel. You enter a large underwater cave. There is
Uzi ammo in the trench
in front of you. Swim to the west and pull up onto a
ledge in the south-west corner. Stand at the east side
of the ledge. Back flip onto a slope, jump forward to a
slope, and jump again to get on a central pillar. Pick
up Uzi ammo and notice
the spikes on the platform at the west wall. Run and
jump there and then run with a curve to jump to the
upper north ledge. The gate does not open so go west.
Kill two dogs and enter
another room with a closed gate and a closed door. Go to
the closed door and turn around. You can pull up to the
east into the ceiling area over the room. There seemed
to be something for Lara to grab above the mound to the
south but I could not grab the upper wall. Jump back
down to the lower room. Go to the north-east corner and
see two movable blocks. Move the blocks out of your way
and enter the tunnel in the north wall. Pull down the
wall switch and get a cut scene of a gate opening
somewhere. Notice the gate to your right.
Exit this tunnel and loop around to the right to enter
another tunnel. Pull down the wall switch and get a cut
scene of a timed gate somewhere. This gate is the gate
in the previous tunnel. Press Key Pad 0 to get out of
the cut scene. Return to the previous tunnel and run
through the timed gate. Go down some steps and you face
three platforms with spikes popping up. Between the
platforms are spike pits. From the tunnel exit, stand
jump three times and you should clear the spikes and
land on a safe area. Start to jump when the first spikes
pop up. You may loose some health but you can make it
alive. Ignore the fourth spiked platform for now. Follow
the tunnel and kill two dogs.
Go to the end and pull up into an opening in the south
wall. Crawl under the crawl space to the east. Pick up
the Medium of Dull and
get a cut scene of the receptacle back in the starting
room.
Just drop into the water and swim back through the
underwater tunnel to the room with the pool. Go to the
north-west corner and run, jump and no grab to land back
on the ledge. Go west to the ledge by the ladder. Climb
down the ladder and now jump into the opening in the
central column. Jump pass the scissors trap when the
fire trap is stopped. Go to the west side of the hole
and look up over the fire to the east wall. There is a
jump switch there. Save the game for many reloads. The
clanking blades make a good timer for the fire duration.
Jump up to the jump switch just before the fire stops.
You should fall into the trench when the fire is out. Go
forward to the wall and quickly back flip out of the
trench before the fire starts again.
The gate in the south wall is open. Stand jump south to
grab and pull up onto a block. Turn and jump north to
grab a crevice on the central column. Shimmy to the left
and onto a ledge. Pick up
Uzi's and enter the column to pick up the
Medium of Bore. You get
a cut scene of the receptacle in the starting room. Exit
to the ledge and run and jump to the north-east towards
the wall ladder. Then stand jump to a lower platform to
the south-west. Run off the south side to a lower ledge.
Safety drop to the lower ledge to the south. Safety drop
to the ground and go east towards the starting room.
Combine the Medium of Dull and the Medium of Bore to
make the Yawn Stone. Place it in the receptacle to open
the door in the south wall. Enter the tunnel and the
door closes behind you. You also hear an earthquake. Go
south and the west to use a floor lever. You get a cut
scene of the door opening and the path up the central
column to a tunnel. Exit through the door and go west.
Notice that a few things have changed.
Go to the north-west and pull up to a ledge. Jump to the
west ledge and pull up onto the north ledge. Kill a
blue ninja and go west
to the destroyed ledge. Jump east to a ledge and pull up
to the south onto another ledge. Enter the opening in
the wall and crawl through the low part of the tunnel.
Stand up and walk, do not run, to the tunnel exit. A
rock drops in front of you. Then run and jump to grab
the opening in the south wall. Go to the end of the
tunnel and pull into a crawl space. Crawl to the left
and get a cut scene of a central tower and some steps
leading to an exit. You also see a few enemies.
Jump to the south-east and follow the ledge to get to a
ramp. Follow the ramp and go up the steps. Stop just
after the skeleton and spikes start on the upper steps.
Kill the blue ninja
shooting at you from the top of the central column. Now
for the spikes. When the spikes reach the bottom step,
start to run at an angle up the steps. Run and jump to
the south-west to jump over the pit and cut the corner
while the spikes are in the corner step. When you reach
the upper step, run south to the safe step at the top.
Jump to the central column and then jump to the blocks
on the south wall. Go west to the top block. Time a jump
over the spikes and run and jump to the ledge in the
north-west.
Approach the tunnel and spikes pop up on the sides of
the ledge and a rock rolls down the ramp. I found it
easier to run and jump with grab to glide back down onto
the central column. You may need to increase your health
before you do this. Go back to the south ledge and west
again. Time a jump to the spikes again to get back to
the ledge. Go up the ramp and climb the wall at the end.
Shimmy left into a tunnel. You see obvious spike trap
and an opening in the south wall.
Enter the south opening and pull up to a block over a
deep pit. Run and jump to grab the slope to the west.
Pull up and slide down to a flat ledge. Turn to the
south and run and jump over the slope to grab a block at
the south wall. Go east to jump to another block in
front of an opening. Enter a room with very shallow
water at the bottom. Time a jump through the fire to get
to the south ledge. Turn to the west and another timed
jump over fire. Then jump to the ledge at the west wall.
Pull down the wall switch and get a cut scene of a rock
rolling and triggering the spikes. The ledges are on
fire but there is a semi-visible ledge to the south.
Jump to the ledge and jump up to grab the ceiling.
Monkey swing over the fires to get back to the entrance.
Run and jump to the east wall to slide down the slope
and grab the edge. Shimmy to the left as far as
possible. Pull up, back flip, roll, and grab the
entrance ledge. Pull up and go back to the tunnel with
the spikes. There is an upper tunnel to the east where
the rock came from. However the spike trap at the
entrance is still there. Go west over the safe spikes
trap and enter a room. Kill a
red ninja that appears. Go west and follow the
corridors to kill two dogs.
You enter a room with a small water trench. Go south
down a tunnel and slide into a room. Go to the west wall
to read the dedication. Go to the south-west corner and
enter the tunnel in the corner. Slide down the slope and
the level ends.
Level 2: The Second Level
You are standing in a room with a note on the floor
stating "THE UNREMARKABLE EGYPTIAN PILLAR". There is an
arrow pointing to the pillar in front of you. Go north
around the pillar and enter a tunnel. The sign on the
wall states, "long passage with weird lighting". Just
follow the tunnel to a wall of writing where the author
thanks many people. Go south and pull out a movable
block. Enter the next room and see more wall writing. Go
west to pull back another movable block. You enter
another room with more wall writing. Go north and see a
sign stating "THE END (go down there)." Look down the
slope and see another picture of a seal. There is also a
note stating, "Seal says the end". Slide down to the
bottom and spikes pop up to kill you. According to a
note that I saw in a forum, that is the end of the
level.
