Great levels, looks great too, the title screen is
beautiful.
As there are many Bats in the levels, I cannot mention
them all, but you will find them as you go along.
Story:
Year 1002. Near the Rapa Nui Island, an extinct volcano
activates. The series of powerful explosions bring the
secret island to life.
Year 1949 - 1st research discovered powerful cosmic
energy source. In 1950 Indiana Jones decided to explore
the island but he has never come back...
Every night when the moon's full the moonlight brings
island to life, discloses secret passages, temples and
tombs which hide Artifact of the Silver Moon...
Year 2002 - 52 years after Indy's expedition, Lara Croft
decides to explore the island, and find that mystique
artifact.
Level 1: Midnight Lagoon
When the level starts, you stand in a small cave
entrance, turn around, go in and shoot all Bats, get the
Flares in the dark, behind a pillar. Find the hole
nearby and drop to the lower cave, go for the Ammo L of
the gate and look up on the pillar there to find a
Jmpswitch to use, go back up and climb up, follow to the
beach at the 1st Lagoon.
1st Lagoon.
Go out and shoot the Croc coming from behind, then
follow the Lagoon to the SW and in the corner there is a
big palm tree, S side of it you can climb the vines on
the rock and pull up into a CS (crawl space). Get all
Ammo and return to the Palm tree to get some Ammo on the
W side of it, shoot a Croc and go into the water along
the W wall, there is another CS up in the rock wall, get
the ½ MP inside and go down. Go E over the L beach and
walk in a straight line to the rock in the Lagoon, a bit
L. In the water you will find a tunnel, swim in and
follow to a room with a lever, throw it and swim back, a
Croc is probably waiting for you in the tunnel, so swim
past him quickly and go to the S when you come to the
surface, run into the Arch there (or shoot the Croc
first when you feel vindictive) and inside the Arch is a
switch next to the gate R side. Pull it to open the gate
and enter, follow to a big hall, get the Flares in the
SW corner and look for the tunnel in the centre of the
room, There will be 2 Crocs in this water, you can lure
them to this hole and shoot them first or try to dodge
them while you swim to the back of the cave, go over the
Skeleton on the bottom to release the Bladetrap and find
the small tunnel in the far R corner, go in and pull the
UW lever inside, go out and now you can pick up the
Skeleton Key next to the Skeleton. Swim back and see the
remains of Indiana Jones lying on the bottom where you
climb back out, whip still in hand. Climb out to the
hall and go back to the 1st beach. Enter the cave in S
wall.
1st Cave.
At the crossing, go R and into the small tunnel, crawl
into the CS and get Secret #1, Ammo, go back out and
opposite the entrance to the cave is an open gate, go in
to collect Secret #2, Revolver, MP and Ammo. Go out and
R, run through the cave to the E, shooting the Bats and
jmp over the Skeleton lying there, it is trapped too! Go
R at next crossing and reach the 2nd Lagoon. Here you
can shoot some Bats flying high up in the air, great
trick, looks nice, Lara looking straight up and
shooting, go over to the S side and to the 3rd Lagoon.
Maybe you meet some Crocs, you know what to do! In the S
of the 3rd Lagoon is a Skeleton lying in the water, get
the Jeep Keys he dropped. Go jmp into the cave in the S
side of the Lagoon and enter the open gate to get Secret
#3, Ammo of all sorts, after shooting all Bats. Go out
and to the W side of the Lagoon and enter the cave
there, over the ridge and hop in the Jeep.
The Jeep Ride.
Go W and L at the end of the tunnel, over the slope
slowly and R, follow to a ridge with a MP, get it and
step on the "Star" Tile behind the ridge. Jmp back and
drive the Jeep back to the slope, only this time go
straight, pass a second tunnel L (this is the one to go
back to the Lagoon, remember it well!) Go on past where
the tunnel goes R and L a bit and take 1st L. follow to
the corner in the end and leave the Jeep there, after
you turned it around, so it faces the way back. Go E and
climb over the ridge, up the Altar to throw the lever, 3
Fire Wraiths will come after you, so sprint like the
wind, jmp over the ridge and sprint to the Jeep, the
sprint gives you a little head start while climbing into
the Jeep. Race it back, straight/R/R over the slope,
don’t hold back this time, race over and R, get out at
the ridge near the Lagoon and get into the water fast to
get rid of those B…..! Now go back to the Jeep and drive
W, R at the crossing and get out at the gate, go in and
down the pole, backflip off and go throw the lever,
runjmp/grab back to the pole and backflip to the top
floor, get back to the Jeep and drive to the Lagoon,
this was the last we saw of the Jeep, pity!
The 1st Oceanic Mask.
Head back to 2nd Lagoon and see the gate open in the E
Arch, go in and get the 1st Oceanic Mask.
Go back to the 1st Lagoon and hop over the Skeleton in
1st Cave, go L when you go out of the Cave and to the W
along the S wall, there is a rock on the beach, making
it possible to runjmp/grab into the cave in the S wall.
Follow the cave down to a gate you can open with the
Key. Go in and to far L corner, go into L passage and
reach the Pillar room.
The Pillar Room.
Here you will have to do some hard and exact jmps. The
route to the lever is L pillar 1st row, far R one in 2nd
row, then to the 2nd from the L in the 3rd row. These
are the safe ones, you have to runjmp exactly from
corner to corner and then you can just make it, if you
miss the pillar, aim a bit different before the next
attempt. From the 3rd pillar, this one is next to the
one on the wall with the ladder, stand all the way back
on the edge, facing the pillar on the wall and
standjmp/grab, go L and climb down, go get Secret #4,
Ammo, MP and Flares. Now climb back up and when Lara is
pulling up to the pillar, hold jmp and R so she will
immediately sidejmp R. Jmp to the ledge with the lever
and throw it, (see the screenshot of a Key on a pedestal
and some Ammo next to it) Do a roll if you want to get
out of the screenshot and get the MP. From the lever,
with your back to the wall, standjmp back to the safe
pillar, do the jmp series again and don’t forget to grab
when jmping into the exit. If you cannot do the jmp to
the last pillar at the exit (like me!), standjmp/grab to
the one L of it and go shimmy to the R hand corner, pull
up and immediately sidejmp R to the last safe pillar and
then to the exit. Go back to 1st Lagoon and into 1st
Cave, to the 2nd Lagoon and into the W cave there, go
along the Golden fence L and runjmp over the Spikes
behind the Spider webs, climb into the crack in the wall
and drop/hang from the other side, go L and around the
corner till you hang over a slope, drop and immediately
jmp with a R curve to land on a safe ledge, climb into
the opening in N wall.
The 2nd Oceanic Mask.
Go N and get some Ammo L, follow N to an open gate L and
go in, run into R hand corner and pull the switch fast,
go to the other side of the gate and pull the switch
there, roll and run to the SW pillar opposite the
switch, next to it is a ladder, climb up and get the
Shotgun, now you can blast the Skeletons in the pit or
just drop to the roof like ledge W side of the room and
get into the gate you opened, they won’t follow. Take
the 2nd Oceanic Mask from the pedestal and go get some
Ammo near the Skeleton. Go out through the open gate in
S wall and slide to a couple of ladders to climb. Shoot
the Demigod in next room and look for the 2 Jmpswitches
on both sides of the room, get the Ammo on the floor and
look for a sloped floor part in the NE corner, from this
you can pull up into a CS, follow to the pedestal you
saw in the cutscene and take the Uli Key. (The cutscene
shows the water next to 1st beach.) Jmp to L the bridge
spanning the room and to the floor N, get Secret #5,
Ammo. Jmp back to the pedestal and go over to the S
bridge, into the R alcove there for more Ammo and see
the ½ MP on the ledge over the entrance to this place,
get it and drop back to the floor to go back to the 1st
Lagoon. (At the Spiketrap, stand to the Golden fence and
runjmp/grab the crack.)
The 3rd Oceanic Mask.
When you stand on the N side of the 1st beach, walk
along the N rock to the W and go around the R corner,
jmp to the next corner and do a runjmp to the Uzis in
the water to the E. Secret #6 is yours now. Runjmp back
and go to the hole in the water next to 1st beach, swim
in and follow the tunnel to a Chain trap, get past it
and open the door.
The Globe Room and the Horsemen.
Follow the passage, jmp over the Spikepit and blast the
2 Skeletons into this pit. Put 4 Globes on 4 Tiles and
throw the lever, sprint L into the gate and climb the
red wall real fast, go over and get the 3rd Oceanic
Mask. Use the Jmpswitch in the NE corner and go over the
red wall again, jmp over the Spike balls and go up the
slope in the centre. Follow the Ammo passage to the
Horsemen’s room. A pillar raised here when you used the
Jmpswitch. Shoot the Horsemen, by hopping back from them
shooting the pistols and they will perish. Climb the
grey pillar and grab the rope, swing to the lever and
use it. See a gate opening up in the Arch in 3rd Lagoon.
(There is a ladder in an alcove L of the lever ledge,
with a pickup on a burner, couldn’t get this!)
(Tip from Idealist: From Lara’s starting position in the
level, look behind the tree to her left. Up high is a
crawlspace she can reach facing east, standing to the
south of the tree and north of the rock. Climb in and
drop down on the other side. Run down the passage. Take
the Normal Shotgun Ammo before pulling the switch. When
you pull the switch, the flame mentioned above will go
out, so that Lara will be able to retrieve
Secret #7:
Explosive Crossbow Ammo when she returns there. As
Lara leaves the cave, teeth spikes will activate in the
square with the skeleton (which is why it is important
to get the Ammo before she pulls the Switch).
The 4th Oceanic Mask.
Go back to the 3rd Lagoon and enter that E gate, get the
4th Oceanic Mask from the pedestal and an earthquake
rocks the room, go to the 1st Cave and instead of going
L to hop over the Skeleton go straight N into the new
opening in the wall, follow to the end of level 1 and
the start of:
Level 2: Volcano
The Main Room.
Turn around from where you stand in the beginning of the
level and look in the dark corner of the cave for a CS,
go in to get Secret #7, MP, Flares and several sets of
Ammo. Go back to the top of the stairs and drop on the L
side of the stairs, get the Crossbow and climb the ledge
NW to pull the switch. Go over to the other side and
drop into the same hole to get a ½ MP and climb the
ledge to get the Lasersight there and pull the next
switch. Go back to the stairs and down to the Lava area,
3 Skeletons will awake, try to get them all together and
shoot them with one explosive arrow. Get another Shotgun
at the Skeleton lying there and go to the open gate S,
draw the Shotgun and blow the Skeleton in the passage
into the Lavapit ahead.
The Rope pit.
Runjmp to the rope (yeah, sure!) better runjmp to the R
hand sloped wall and grab the edge, go L to the centre
of the Face Tile on the wall, pull up and
backflip/roll/grab the rope, swing to the other side and
grab when you go into the opening in the wall. Follow
the passage to a deep, deep Lavaroom.
The Deep Lavaroom.
In the centre is a big pillar with a pedestal on top,
that’s where you have to go, but you have to go around
the room to get to the somewhat higher pillar next to
it, you can see in front and to the L a bit. On this
side of the centre pillar is a flat ledge you can use to
get up later. Here we go; standjmp/grab the pillar R
side and shimmy R around corner, from the centre of that
side, save/pull up and runjmp to the next, do a
runningjmp to the next and walk forward to the edge,
standjmp/grab the next and go R to the centre of the R
side, save and runjmp, walk forward to the edge and
standjmp/grab, save and pull up, draw the Shotgun and do
a runjmp, while shooting a Skeleton off the next pillar.
Put the Shotgun away and walk to the edge, standjmp/grab
the corner pillar. Go R around the corner again and
save, pull up, draw the Shotgun, runjmp and walk
forward, shoot the Skeleton off next pillar, put the gun
away and standjmp/grab to that pillar.
Go around the corner to the corner close to the next
pillar and pull up, turn R and standjmp/grab. Save again
and go around R to face the big centre pillar pull up
and runjmp/grab the higher pillar close to the centre
pillar, this one will not burn, runjmp to the ledge on
the centre pillar when the Skeleton jmped off this
pillar and climb up to get the 2nd Uli Key on top, go
down and shoot a couple of Skeletons. Jmp back to the
last pillar and from this one you can do a long
runjmp/grab to the exit. So I hope you got that! Go into
the passage and open the gate in front of you. Pull the
lever to open the L gate, go slide down backwards and
grab the edge of the pit, pull up and backflip, slide to
the bottom, look for the Jmpswitch over the entrance to
stop the burner under the switch, use it and climb the
ladders N, throw the lever again and go down the
ladders, find the open gate at the end of the slope and
get the Skeleton Key. Climb the ladders again and exit
E, go L and back to the Rope pit. Use the same trick to
get back to the Main Room.
The Mirror Room.
Go to the N gate and open it, go in and here’s another
Rope pit, you know what to do now, go to the Mirror
room. Drop from the entrance to a ledge below and walk
to the far edge of it, from about the centre of that
side, standjmp/grab with a R curve to the higher pillar,
just have a look in the mirror and make your way over to
the other side, pull the lever and return to the Main
Room. Shoot a Skeleton in one of the pits and go to the
gate in the SW.
The Demi God room.
Jmp the ledges to the SW corner and runjmp/grab the
higher ledge in the corner, walk around and look to the
centre of the room, the Demigod will not shoot you, but
you can shoot HIM from here, just with the pistols to
save Ammo. Pull up to the E ledge and runjmp/grab the
sloped wall E side, shimmy R and when you reached the
flat block, pull up/backflip and jmp with a R curve onto
the flat block, runjmp to the slope on E wall and
slide/jmp twice to land at the Revolver, drop backwards
off the N side of this ledge and grab the edge, shimmy R
to the end and pull up/backflip and jmp with R curve to
a flat corner ledge, jmp over to the opposite one and do
a runjmp to the W slope going N to the block there,
shimmy R and at the block, pull up/jmp R. jmp to the
slope on W wall and slidejmp/grab to the block in the
corner. Climb all the way up and use the ropes to go
over to the lever o the other side, use it and take a
MP, drop from the N side to the flat block below after
you checked the health and hold "Ctrl". (Don’t take a MP
after the drop; you’ll get one for free in a moment,
when you go to next level) Run off the block to the
slope S of it and you’ll land on a ledge below, go back
to the Main Room and up the stairs, go into the dark
corner of the cave and get Secret #8, MP, Flares and all
kinds of Ammo. Go down the stairs and enter a gate in
the NW.
Note from Idealist: The descriptions of two different
Secrets in the second level, Volcano, are identical.
There is, in fact, only one Secret in the entire level.
Level 3: Mystique Maze
Main Room.
Go L and R for goodies and enter the Main room, under
the Arch, in the pool is some Ammo, go to the golden
fence W and enter, shoot the Horseman coming from behind
and enter the L passage, hear the gate open, go L and
into next room, throw the lever. Go into the passage in
the W, L and follow till you see another golden fence,
(No it’s not the same room, go in and throw the lever
there, get back in the passage and go R, follow back to
the 1st lever room and head over to the Main room.
The Maze.
The gate in the N opened, go in and follow, watch the
flyby of this enormous place and go R, find the
Jmpswitch on the wall L in the red wall part and use it
to open a gate L of you, a Demigod will make his entry,
go take him out and enter the new passage, go to the end
and L/L and at the lava pit, you better turn around and
shoot the Skeleton. Runjmp/grab over to the other side
and use the lever, shoot the Horseman and go get some
Ammo where he came from. Go back to the beginning of the
Maze and past the entrance to the W, around the corner
to shoot another Demigod, pick up some Ammo and go on.
You will meet a Horseman, follow the passages to a T
crossing with a Lava pit R and a Jmpswitch opposite a
sloped block L, stand under the switch and
backflip/jmp/grab the switch, go to the Lava pit and
shoot the Skeletons in when you go over to the other
side, one will come from behind when you’re over. Shoot
the Horseman and go get the Ammo near the Skeleton E and
go back over the pit, L and L into the open gate, there
will be a Horseman waiting in the R hand passage.
Take him out before you go and get the Ammo at the
Skeleton, use the lever N and the sound of thunder rolls
through the Maze.
From the lever, go L/R/R into an open gate with a pool,
dive in and swim to the W end fast, stand and turn,
shoot the Crocs and get the Ammo, now swim all the way
to the other side of the tunnel and climb out at the
ladder, use the switch to open a gate and also the big
ones L of you, go through them and R, past the entrance
of the Maze and into the gate R. Get the Key from the
pedestal and return to the place where you jmped over
the lavapits, so go out, L/R in the end, L in the end, L
and R (shooting the Horseman on your way) at the
T-crossing, over the pit and L to the golden fence, go
behind it and open the gate. Follow the passage. Pick up
the Ammo, shoot the Skeleton and go L when you reach the
open space, shoot 3 Horsemen on your way E and jmp over
the Darts, notice the 2 closed gates that need Keys. Use
the ropes in the end to swing all the way to the N side
of the Maze. Shoot the Horseman lurking around and look
in the NE corner for an alcove in the wall, use the
slope to jmp in there and pull the switch to open a gate
to a Secret later in the level. Go to the Big gate in N
wall and open it with 2 Oceanic Masks. Enter and come to
a room where you can place the 3rd Mask. Look behind you
and enter the small Labyrinth NE, find the Mask on the
pedestal in the back, 2 ½ MPs and some Ammo, go place
the Mask in last room and enter the passage L of it,
under the strange water filled pillar. Pick up some Ammo
inside and crawl through the CS. Here you reach the
Mystique Madness level.
Level 4: Mystique Madness
The 1st Mystique Pillar Room.
Follow the directions on the following Scheme:

And when you got the 1st Key, go out to where the ropes
are, R and follow the ledge, shooting one more Horseman,
to another big gate you can open with the last 2 Oceanic
Masks.
The 2nd Mystique Pillar Room.
Inside you can dive into the pool under the Arch, swim
through the tunnel and R, into the water filled pillar,
collect Secret #9, the MP near the window. Swim back and
to the other side, get some Ammo and look on L wall for
the UW lever and use it. Swim back to the pool and go
into the N gate, now you have to do the same as in the
1st room. It’s identical. Get the 2nd Key and go back
using the ropes to the S side of the Maze where the 2
gates are.
Mystique Maze.
Open the 1st and shoot a Horseman, get the 1st Serpent
Stone from the pedestal and collect ½ MP and a Revolver.
Go out and L, to the 2nd gate and get the 2nd Serpent
Stone. Now you have the Stones, you can return to the
Volcano level. When you come back to ground level of the
Maze, go over the Lava pit, L/L/R/R/L and 2nd R to the
Main room. Climb the golden fence L of where you come
back into the room and go L, pull up on the flat ledge
over the entrance and runjmp over to the top of the
Arch. Get Secret # 10, Ammo on top and go down again and
into the S gate (you opened before), get Secret # 11, in
the Silver Moon Room. There are several pickups. Now go
back to the Volcano.
Volcano.
Open the Serpent Gate over the lava bridge E and take a
flare before sliding underneath the Volcano.
Level 5: Underneath the Volcano
You slide into a cave, walk slowly here because the
floor is trapped with Blade traps, walking slowly will
trigger them, but they will not harm you, get the MP and
the Ammo L, go to the R side of where you landed and get
the Ammo, walk along the R side of the Cave to the MP,
ready to shoot 2 Skeletons and a Horseman, which will
drop a Shotgun. Go to the NW corner and climb the
ladder, use the switch, go down and get some Ammo there,
walk over to the gate and get the Ammo beyond in the
corner, enter the gate and shoot a Horseman in next
room, climb the lower block and jmp to the higher block,
try to land on the edge of it, while shooting the
Skeleton off, you will be pushed off by the Bladetrap.
Get back up and follow the ledges all the way to the
top, be careful, the thick ledges have Bladetraps, try
to hop on and backflip to the ledge you jmped from. When
you reached the top level, on N side of the room, runjmp
to the thick ledge and hop back grabbing the edge
(Bladetrap), drop to the ledge below and climb back up.
There are a lot of Skeletons on the ledges, deal with
them as you go along, when you jmp to the ledge in front
of the Demigod room, shoot the 2 Skeletons and the DG,
don’t fall into the pit and get the Flares. Go into the
sloped room in the SW and run up to the switch, pull and
sprint back down, straight into the open gate and runjmp
up the higher floor to get out of the way of the Spike
ball. Follow the passage to a MS (monkeyswing) and use
it to go over the sloped pit, go L around the corner
into the Key room and enter the passage in the W, use
the MS to go over the pit and stay close to he wall, a
Blade trap protects the Key so be careful. Get the Key
and return to the Key room, look for the Jmpswitch L,
next to the entrance and use it to open the gate in N
wall, go in and shoot a couple of Crocs in the pool you
come to.
The Bladepool room.
Dive in and use the UW lever under the entrance ledge,
go back to the Key room and the gate in S wall is open,
throw only one of the levers and use the Key. A gate
opened in the other end of the Bladepool room.
Note: throwing
both levers will prevent you from finishing the game.
One of the levers opens the two final doors you need to
finish. The correct lever plays music when pulled. If
you pull both levers, the doors won't open and you can't
finish the level.
Go back there and standjmp to one of the sides of the
1st ledge, because the ledges are trapped with Blades,
you better not jmp in the centre. When you jmp to one of
the sides, you will just fall off and you can swim back
to jmp on it again. This way you will have to go over to
the ledge in the centre with the Ammo, this one is safe.
(Well… safe?) Take out the old Shotgun and blast all
Skeletons into the water, try to hit them as they are
airborne while jumping from ledge to ledge. Now you can
go on triggering all the ledges to the other side and
enter the room there. A Demigod, a Skeleton and 2
Wraiths where the resistance I came across, the Wraiths
took off to the water by them selves in my game, but if
they don’t, take them there before you start working on
the Demigod.
Go on to take the Flares and ½ MP in next room and go
look for the Jmpswitch behind the SE pillar. The gate to
the Lava Spike room opens. First shoot the 2 Horsemen
and enter the room.
The Lava Spike Room.
Jmp to the other side, follow the path on the Picture.
Start with the 1st ledge R and standjmp to it when the
Spikes are about to go up, do a runningjmp with sharp L
curve to the 3rd, (discard the 2nd) and a standjmp will
get you to the safe 4th. Runjmp to the 5th from the L
side of #4 when you expect the Spikes to come up and a
runningjmp will get you to the ledge at the switch. Pull
it (see the lave turn to water) and from this ledge,
runjmp back to the 5th again at the moment you expect
the Spikes to go up and a runningjmp to the safe 4th.
Don’t use the 2nd ledge again and standjmp to the 3rd
when you expect the Spikes to go up. A runningjmp with a
sharp R curve will get you to the 1st and a runningjmp
will get you to the exit. Go to the room with the lava
pits, near the Blade pool room and go both sides to
throw 2 levers and pick up some goodies, dodge the
Skeletons and go to the Demigod room, shoot the Twins
and leave these wonderful levels through the gate E.
