The Lost City of Pompeii Walkthrough

Walkthrough by Monika Pietsch.

It has all the important pick-ups and items mentioned.
It will not contain all pick-ups, all enemies and maybe not all the secrets.
This walkthrough is meant as a guideline to get you to the end of the level, even so there might be other ways too.

1. The lost city of Pompeii

Slide down into the first pit. Collect the Grenade Gun and grenades.
Then slide and jump over three more spike pits.
Enter the first entrance to the left. You meet 2 pumas. You come to a room with 4 Neptunes. Shoot the vases and take the Lasersight and a small medi-pack. On the right side you’ll find a crawlspace, a ladder und up there a high wall switch. Then go to the left side to an open door. There is a rotating knife. Jump through and push the button behind it. This button opens the door behind the 4 Neptunes. Kill an Atlantean (like demigod). Take the 1. Trident.
In the bigger room with the pool you can climb up a block at the left side. Use a ladder, transverse along the roof. Climb up and collect the Gold Key.
Go down again and use the keyhole on the right side of this area.
When you enter 4 pumas have to be killed. Shoot 2 vases and take wideshot shells and a small medi-pack.
Climb up the ladder, back flip and pull up there a switch. The 2 underwater doors in the pool are open now.
Use the left door and keep to the left side. At the 3. niche on the right side you can climb out.
Pull a switch. This drains the water. Watch out because poisonous darts start. When you reach a small pit go left and left. There is a movable block to pull. Behind it you will find in a hole the Silver Key. Go back to the ladder. The door is open, leave and go back to the pool.

Enter the 2. opening on the left. You see a statue. Climb up starting on the left side.
Jump over the balustrade and get a Revolver, flares and a Secret (Golden Skull).
Go down and to the opening on the side. Use the Silver Key for the trap door.
Push the door open and inside climb up.
Up there you can look at the lighted up statue. Jump to the hands to get to the other side. Collect from the balconies on the side some shotgun ammo (2x).
Enter the door and crawl along. You will see 3 skeletons on the floor. You can take the Shotgun from the middle skeleton. Near there is a different looking block. Pull it out. Behind it you will find the Gold Key. A fire wraith will appear and so dash to the opening in the balustrade and jump into the pool
You come to big hall with a pool in the middle. Down in the water pull an underwater switch on the plinth with the horse on. Climb back up using a ladder to the upper part. One picture was a hidden door and is open now.
First shoot the lion’s head. Got to the other side of the room. There behind an open door you find flares, a Secret, shotgun shells, small medi-pack and a Shotgun.
In the first room is a Golden Skull (secret). The way to get it is to go on and to the crawlspace on the right side. When touching the last square the spikes around the secret go up. Now you can it but it will cost a small medi-pack.
When you go behind the flags you see 2 white staircases. Shoot the 2 vases and collect the Revolver and grenades.
In the middle of the room is a marked square (that is for later). On the left side is a keyhole. Go up the right stairs. Push the door. You meet 4 skeletons.
It follows a health consuming part. Pass the swinging spiky balls. Jump over spikes from the right side to the middle. Kill an Atlantean. Jump over to the room and push a button and eliminate 2 skeletons.
Leave this area the way you came. Go to the door where the 3 skeletons are on the floor.
Push a button and 5 ropes will drop over the pool. Use them to cross over it.
When you drop you have to deal with 2 skeletons and an Atlantean.
Go up behind the flag on the left side. Take the flares, a large medi-pack and
the Silver Key. Don’t forget to take the 2. Trident.

Go through the open door and towards the picture door.
When you come to the stairs use the left side.
Use the Gold Key and the Silver Key and you leave level 1.

2. The lost temple of Pompeii

When you enter look for a lions head to shoot (near a picture).
On the balcony you meet a skeleton and a puma.
Go down and enter the yard. Behind the 4 horses on a plinth shoot another lions head.
The door is open. Shoot 2 vases if you like. There is nothing there.
Enter the right side and shoot the 6 vases. Behind the middle vase on the left side is an opening. You have to transverse on a climbable wall. Avoid the poisonous darts by going underneath them. You enter a room with 4 torches on the wall.
Pull one column to free a crawlspace. At the end of the crawlspace there is a button.
This will make a block rise in the room before. Go up the block and take the
Silver Key. This awakens 2 skeletons. Return along the climbable wall underneath the darts.

Go to the other side with 6 vases. Behind the last vase on the right side are a keyhole and a ladder. Use the Silver Key to open a trapdoor.
Climb up the ladder. Go to the left and climb up a pole, back flip onto the 1. balustrade. Jump through rotating knifes. You come to another pole. This time slide down and go and pull a switch. Use the pole again and climb up to the higher balustrade. A door is open now. It follows some kind of maze. You have to find 4 switches.
The first one is near the door with a red carpet behind it. Then you see 3 switches. Use the middle one. The other two are spike traps. Now the door with the red carpet behind it is open. Go and get the Gold Key.
Make your way back and go to the big double door. Use the Gold Key.

‹ Using the golden key to open the big double doors.......
Behind the two banners under the stairs (north side) you find on the right some goodies and on the left a lever. This lever opens up a painting to the east. You can jump there from the baclony (and back).
There is a Secret and also a lever. Don't know what that lever did though as I have been looking almost every where. Gerty ›

Shoot 2 vases, but there is nothing there. In the pool is a small medi-pack.
Push the door on the south side. Go in and on. Run / dash down the tunnel. On the left side in the corner is a safe place. 3 boulders come down. You can crawl underneath the middle one and pick up wideshot shells. Use the climbable wall on the south side.
Climb pass the 1.floor. Higher up is an opening. There you pull a switch. Eliminate a skeleton. Just above the switch is a crawlspace. Crawl and enter a room. The door closes behind you. Push a button. Step onto the trigger pad in the corner and dash towards the timed door. Crawl back and go to the 1.floor to the open door.
There is a crossroad. You can go to the right, left and middle.
Start with the middle part. There are some swinging spiky balls to pass.
Jump to the left side, slide and grab and then transverse to the right.
On the other side is a climbable wall. Use it and the crawlspace on the right side.
Pull a switch. Go back the way you came, pass the swinging spiky balls and go to the west side (right from the pit) and enter an open door. You see a skeleton and John hanging on the wall. Take a large medi-pack and a Shotgun. In the smaller pit there is nothing. Climb down the bigger pit. Kill a skeleton. Go on till you see a room with a pole.
Take a large medi-pack and shotgun shells from the floor. Use the pole and slide down.
Take the flares. There is a button behind spikes. You have to got through them and push the button .Run, push button and back flip (use a medi-pack to survive).
Climb up the pole till you see 4 ledges. Back flip to the one with the door.
Jump over to the opposite ledge to get some wideshot shells.
You enter a room with a pool and you see the 3.Trident on the balcony on the opposite side.
There is a ladder on the left side next to the entrance. Use it and pull a switch.
A rope drops down. Use it to swing over to the 3.Trident.
Return to the crossroad and now go to the right side. Climb up the climbable wall. You land on white stairs. Turn and pull the switch there. The exit door opens automatically. You come out on the balcony of the red room with the pool. You can shoot the 2 vases.
There is nothing there.
Now you can go for a secret. Jump over the balustrade and go to the 6 vases room on the right. Climb up the ladder and use the pole to the 2. floor. A door is open there. Collect a Secret, Uzi and Uzi ammo.
Return to the balcony of the red room using the door on the lower level, the long tunnel, the climbable wall till you are back on the balcony.
Go through the second door and you leave level 2.

3. The lost colosseum at Pompeii

You start in a tunnel. You can go to the right or straight ahead.

Go straight ahead. At the beginning of the room before the big pit there is an opening on the left side. Jump into it. You meet a skeleton. Pick up a small medi-pack, the Crossbow and arrows. 2 more skeletons appear. Push the button and a rope will drop in the big pit room.
Use the climbable wall, take a running jump from the block to the sloped block and grab the opposite edge. Use the rope to swing over to the big opening. You come to a pool with a reptile fish. Kill it from above. Climb down and swim on straight ahead. Hurry because a shark will follow you. Climb out and kill the shark.
Go through the opening. You have to pass 3 rotating knifes and you come to a pool.
Get rid of the 4 skeletons in the next room and shoot the reptile fish in the pool.
Open the 4 underwater doors. One has a switch and 3 have ammo.
Go to the open door. Go straight ahead and right. There are pits and rotating knifes.
Also a big ball comes rolling along. You come out above the room where the skeletons had been. Jump over the ledges and blocks till you reach a switch.
After pulling it take the way again to the rotating knifes. Go to the right side and pull a movable block. (I used the corner block bug and jumped till I came out on the other side)
Go to the opening, drop into the room and you can pick up the Gold Key in a niche.
Swim again and get out on the left side. Climb a ladder and push a button. This fills the big pit with water.
Make your way to the tunnel and leave to the left side.
You come into a room with blocks and green plants. Pick up the Uzi ammo and some flares. Use the ladder to climb up. Jump over the blocks.
In the next room is the colosseum. Before going down jump over to the building. Transverse to the right side and you will find a Grenade Gun, the Uzi and a Secret.
Using the ladders climb to the floor. Make you way up at the right side to an opening.
Up there pull a switch and this will open the colosseum door.
When you go past the 2 horses and enter the colosseum 2 skeletons will awake.
Go up either side and you arrive at the arena.
There is an opening on the west side. Go there and shoot the lion’s head. There is also a keyhole and a trapdoor.
You can use the Gold Key and climb down.
You enter a labyrinth. Run straight ahead and the one before last turn right and right again and you will find the 4. Trident. Kill a skeleton, get out of the way from the Hammerman and outrun 2 or 3 more skeletons.
Climb up and drop into the arena. Pull the switch and behind the open door is a bull.
In the room is nothing. If the bull doesn’t get up, shoot at him with pistols, step a little closer and then dash away.
He has to break 5 tiles in the arena and this will open the door underneath the balcony.
Run into that room and pull a switch. This raises a block near the balcony. Then hurry to the ladder and climb out. Before going on go behind the wall and push a button.
This opens a door in the next open room. Go there and pick up a Secret and a lot of goodies. Now go to the block. From there you have to jump to the balcony. It is a tricky jump. Shoot 2 vases and take a large medi-pack and wideshot shells.
You have to run through moving blocks and you will find the Bronze Key. A skeleton appears.
Leave the colosseum, climb up and make your way to level 1. (In the tunnel just go to the left and this will take you to level 2)

Open the trapdoor. Go down and use the Bronze Key. Behind the door is a temple with
4 Neptunes and they all need a Trident.
Use 3 Tridents on the ground floor. There is nothing in the vases.
Go to the left side of the temple and at the back is a crawlspace. Use it and climb up till you reach the roof of the temple. Use the 4. Trident. Go back to the temple entrance. The doors are open. When you enter a skeleton awakes.
Climb down into the hole. You are in a room with a sarcophagus and a switch.
Now you can pull the switch to open the exit door and just go on.

You can go to the sarcophagus and collect a piece of armour.
Then you have to shoot 2 Atlanteans and make your way past moving blocks and
spikes on the floor.

Leave through the door and the level is finished.

There should be 7 Secrets or 8 Secrets if you take the one with the spikes around.
