Pirates of the
Caribbean by Cowboy

Pirates of
the Caribbean
Lara finds herself on a small Jungle Island which was once
home to a tribe of natives and a few pirates. She has to
recover an artifact the pirates looted from the native's
ancient temple to escape. But she finds that those same
pirates are cursed and are still around, protecting the
artifact. Also Lara is not alone - there is a strange
mercenary group after the artifact which will stop at
nothing to get it.

Playing levels like this made me feel like chucking in the
editor and giving up as a builder! This game is so
impressive that for a while I felt I was back in the magic
of Tomb Raider 2. As soon as I stepped into the game I was
completely absorbed and enthralled.
The gameplay was challenging, sometimes very demanding, but
almost perfect. This is a masterful blend of exploration and
action, yet without ever leaving you feeling like you were
lost. When the first level ended I was sad. But then I
discovered there was a second level and I was
happy again.
The pirate ship was simply breathtaking. And there were more
than a few special moments. Ghost pirates sticking their
heads up where you least expect them, for example! Classic
gameplay.
It does have a couple of problems, the most noticeable being
the horizon draw breakdown at the start. But there are also
a couple of challenging tasks which can be quite
frustrating. Having said that, buckle down and beat them and
the sense of achievement is exquisite.
If you haven't played this one do yourself a favour, turn
the lights down and the volume up and immerse yourself in
something very special.
